The Odditorium
Design and typesetting
In the spring of 2016 I was rewarded the opportunity to work with the creative masterminds behind ernestjournal.co.uk to design and assemble their first book, The Odditorium: The tricksters, eccentrics, deviants and inventors whose obsessions changed the world (Hodder & Stoughton, October 2016)*.
My role included creating infographics and digital collages and laying out pages (a selection of which are shown here) following the art director's style guides; picture research and seeking permissions from copyright holders, and; assembling source files and images for the publishers. This was the first book I had worked on and I was overwhelmed by the enormously positive reaction it yielded from the team, publishers and a vast international audience. Production has begun on a sequel to The Odditorium, but for now my lips are tightly sealed.
* I did not design the outer cover of the book.
An amazing read and thoroughly enjoyable project to be involved with.
